SHILO: 8:00 NCIS; 9:00 The Code; 10:00 Bull
CRAIG: 8:00 NCIS; 9:00 FBI; 10:00 NCIS: New Orleans
SHILO: Okay, I know that I said NCIS was going to launch something new last season and it didn’t come to pass, so this is just banging my head up against the wall, right? Probably. But I think that CBS will indeed launch a new drama either Tuesdays or Wednesdays and since I could see SEAL Team staying put, I went with Tuesdays. CBS needs to utilize NCIS as a lead-in to launch new shows while they still can and The Code sounds like a pretty solid match for the show judging by its logline. Bull held up especially well during the second half of the season and seemed to have an independent audience from NCIS, so it and its 14% demo skew seem like they could transition to 10:00 and be fine, especially with a promising lead-in. Additionally, like Bull, The Code reads like something that would be unaffected by This Is Us, which is something CBS should take advantage of.
CRAIG: I was going to be boring and keep CBS Tuesday as is, but I figure I, too, will deviate, putting the Dick Wolf-produced FBI in the middle of an NCIS sandwich. It might have to fear This Is Us but the old people who love NCIS aren’t going anywhere.
