CRAIG: I’m moving Shark Tank back to Fridays to precede 20/20, but beyond that, it’s business as usual.
SHILO: Fresh Off the Boat and Speechless started the season off pretty rough but looked better, especially relative to ABC’s other comedies, by the end. Both also have syndication packages to add onto, so I think ABC holds tight to the 8:00 hour for one final season. While there’s a world where ABC expands comedies to 9:00, I’ll go more conservative and say they bring back game show Child Support this fall. The series didn’t do that well this past fall, but if ABC is already bucking Sunday/Monday and debuting two new shows on Wednesday, I don’t know if they have the marketing budget or reach to makeover Fridays. Plus fellow unscripted newbies Don’t and Videos After Dark are too high priority for Fridays, so ABC will air a short Child Support season that will give way to two-hour 20/20 episodes for the majority of the season.
