SHILO: With so much change earlier in the week, this is where ABC holds pat. Grey’s is still doing what Grey’s does and ABC loved A Million Little Things enough to give it a major time slot upgrade that it took full advantage of, so I don’t see the latter being downgraded in the fall. The 10:00 hour should see two Shonda dramas time sharing since the trades are indicating that ABC is looking to hang on to the TGIT franchise. ABC wouldn’t outright cancel a Viola Davis show, especially one they own with strong non-linear and streaming numbers, so I think How to Get Away with Murder gets a pre-announced final season and possibly a shorter order in exchange for staying in the fall. I have Station 19 taking over 10:00 at midseason; I wouldn’t be shocked if ABC tried to get 22 episodes of it elsewhere, or if they kept it on Thursdays and shunted Murder off to another night, but they seem married to the TGIT brand and that’s Shonda shows on Thursdays.
CRAIG: I’ve got the same thing as you, except I’ve shipped Station 19 to Wednesdays, which again, might be a silly idea.
