After ordering fourth Chicago spin-off Chicago Justice earlier today, NBC went back to its drama development stable and gave Dan Fogelman birthday dramedy This Is Us a series order. Considered a favorite to get ordered to series, This Is Us has a unique premise in that it follows a group of people who were born the same day, though it’s unclear how said premise will extend to an entire series.

This Is Us stars Justin Hartley (Mistresses), Mandy Moore (Red Band Society), Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls), and Sterling K. Brown (American Crime Story). In addition to Chicago Justice, the series joins a roster of new NBC dramas for next season that includes Taken, a prequel to the Liam Neeson film trilogy, and Oz take Emerald City.

NBC will be unveiling their 2016 fall schedule on Sunday, May 15th. You can check out KSiteTV’s predictions for NBC’s schedule next season here.

Will you be watching This Is Us? How do you think a show with this type of premise can sustain itself? What do you think This Is Us will look like by the end of its first season?
