THR has revealed that the former Buffy The Vampire Slayer has signed on to play the daughter of Robin Williams in The Crazy Ones, a CBS sitcom pilot written by David E. Kelley. Here’s how THR describes her character, Sydney Roberts:
She’s described as pretty, intense, driven, organized and burdened with being practical. Sydney is the creative director and life and soul of the Roberts and Roberts Advertising Agency at the center of the comedy. She wants to be her father but is too busy having to parent him.
CBS has ordered a lot of pilots, so it’s no guarantee this one will hit the air, especially considering that the network has a small amount of TV real estate compared to the other networks. With big names like Williams, Gellar, and Kelley (lots of L’s there!) maybe its chances are a bit higher than something with a smaller pedigree.
