The “Spider-Man TV universe” that’s been set up at Amazon Prime Video and MGM+ is planning some expansion: Joining the already-announced Silk: Spider Society is a live-action Spider-Man Noir series, according to a report this morning from Variety.

Still without an official title announced for the show, the series is described as following “an older, grizzled superhero in 1930s New York City.” Variety notes that the show is set in its own universe and that the character’s alter ego will not be Peter Parker.

Oren Uziel (The Lost City) is said to be the writer and executive producer, and he developed this project with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller along with Amy Pascal.

Sony currently has control of over 900 Spider-Man related characters in its arsenal which they can use for TV or movies, and this is the latest. “Spider-Man Noir” is probably most famous for his role in Into the Spider-Verse where the character was voiced by Nicolas Cage. Hopefully more news will come as this “universe” continues to develop and grow.
