Percival Pickens, this is your fault… (we are kidding)… The CW announced today that the upcoming seventh season of Riverdale will be the show’s last…. or, as the Fall schedule announcement press release says, “The CW will also bid farewell to the cultural sensation RIVERDALE when it returns for its seventh and final season this midseason.”
Riverdale, based on the Archie Comics characters, has been a pop culture phenomenon since its premiere in 2017. The show made household names of its stars such as KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch while bringing Cole Sprouse out of the Suite Life and into adult acting. While the show did get silly at times, that was part of the show’s charm, and it will be missed. Currently, Riverdale Season 7 is scheduled to premiere at midseason; new Season 6 episodes are continuing to air Sundays on The CW.
