According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to PEN15, a teen comedy from AwesomenessTV.

Created by and starring Maya Erskine (Man Seeking Woman) and Anna Konkle (Betas), with The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone) executive producing, PEN15 takes place in the year 2000 and features Erskine and Konkle portraying 13-year-old versions of themselves. The series, which will feature the two playing off of actual teenage actors, will chronicle the volatility of one’s early teenage years and the universal difficulties we all experience during such a vulnerable time.

PEN15 comes as Hulu has been reshaping its comedy slate, concluding the likes of The Mindy Project, Casual, and Difficult People while ordering high school comedy All Night and renewing Josh Hutcherson vehicle Future Man.

Production on PEN15 is set to begin this summer, with additional casting to be announced in the coming months.
