The CW has officially ordered a dramedy for the fourth straight season, as cancer dramedy Life Sentence has been picked up to series. While the first two attempts at dramedies panned out critically, as Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend attracted a lot of buzz that The CW didn’t usually get, this season’s No Tomorrow failed to attract enough attention to get a renewal.
From Richard Keith and Erin Cardillo (Significant Mother), Life Sentence tells the story of Stella (Lucy Hale), a young woman recently shaken to her very core by a terminal cancer diagnosis. Told she only had a short time to live, Stella decided to throw caution to the wind and make the kind of choices she was too scared to before her diagnosis. However, upon finding out that she’s not dying after all, she’s forced to live with the choices she made and learn to live life with the spontaneity that had been missing prior to this whole ordeal.
In addition to Hale, Life Sentence stars Dylan Walsh (Unforgettable), Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush), Gillian Vigman (The Hangover), and Jayson Blair (Young & Hungry).
The CW will be revealing its 2017-18 schedule on Thursday, May 18th. You can check out what KSiteTV thought could be in the cards here.
