Peacock has released the trailer for its first original scripted series Brave New World.
Based on the seminal sci-fi novel from Aldous Huxley, with David Weiner (Homecoming), Grant Morrison (Happy!), and Brian Taylor (Crank) adapting to series,Brave New Worldtakes place in a seemingly utopian society where monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself have been prohibited by the government.The series follows Bernard Marx (Harry Lloyd) and Lenina Crowe (Jessica Brown Findlay) as they seek to explore life beyond the rigid social structures that dominate their life through a vacation to the Savage Lands.Once there, they become involved in a violent rebellion that forces John the Savage (Alden Ehrenreich) to rescue them and return them to the New World.Only when they return, John’s arrival brings about repercussions that will awaken them to the dangers of their conditioning.
In addition to Lloyd, Findlay, and Ehrenreich, the series, originally ordered by USA before moving to the NBCUniversal streaming service, stars Demi Moore (Ghost), Joseph Morgan (The Originals), Kylie Bunbury (Twisted), Nina Sosanya (Killing Eve), and Sen Mitsuji (Altered Carbon).
Brave New World is set to debut Wednesday, July 15th on Peacock alongside British acquisitions The Capture and Intelligence and Psych 2: Lassie Come Home, the sequel to 2017’s well-received Psych: The Movie.
