A day after releasing their fall 2020 schedule, ABC has made a tweak to their initial plan, subbing in Black-ish Wednesdays at 8:30.

Black-ish has a long-standing history of shining a light on current events and honoring Black voices through the lens of the Johnson family,” said Karey Burke, president, ABC Entertainment. “After speaking with Kenya and our creative partners, we decided it was important to tell these meaningful stories during this moment in time, so we are adjusting our premiere schedule and are committed to doing whatever it takes to bring this series back as soon as we possibly can. Following recent monumental events, it’s imperative that the dialogue continues and empowers viewers to raise their voices, and there is no other show that does that like Black-ish.”

The move for Black-ish creates a domino effect for the network’s planned Wednesday schedule. Assuming the 8:30 slot bumps American Housewife to 9:30, wherein it’ll be led into by the third season of The Conners. This pushes new comedy Call Your Mother, about an empty nester (Kyra Sedgwick) who re-inserts herself into the lives of her adult children, back to midseason.

With Call Your Mother delayed to midseason, that means ABC has only one new scripted series for fall 2020 – crime thriller Big Sky, which airs Tuesdays at 10:00 following The Bachelorette.

Listed below is ABC’s new fall 2020 schedule.
