Deadline is reporting that Gotham alum Philip Hernandez has joined the upcoming third season of Hulu drama The Path. He’ll be recurring as South American cancer doctor Dr. Costa, who serves as medical counsel to Lilith.
Season two of The Path concluded with Eddie bringing his group of Deniers to the Meyerist compound and reuniting the loved ones that had been separated due to their religious practices. With Cal and Eddie looking more vulnerable and less likely to hold the reins of Meyerism, Felicia has tapped Sarah as the next leader of the movement, but will she be willing to usurp Cal and forceably remove herself from Eddie’s orbit?
In addition to his role on the FOX drama, Hernandez has appeared on the likes of The Blacklist, The Mysteries of Laura, and Nurse Jackie. He’s one of multiple new additions to The Path this season, joining Slumdog Millionaire‘s Freida Pinto in boarding the cult drama.
The third season of The Path is set to premiere in early 2018 on Hulu. The series is part of a scripted roster for Hulu that includes The Handmaid’s Tale, Harlots, and Freakish.
