The spinoff featuring the “Hope” character from The Originals is still a thing that may be happening – and Matt Davis, “Alaric” of Vampire Diaries fame, will be joining her if it goes to series.

Danielle Rose Russell takes over the role of Hope Mikaelson for The Originals Season 5, which premieres April 20 on The CW, and rather than shooting a pilot for this spinoff, Deadline is reporting that there will instead be a pilot presentation created from clips from The Originals Season 5.

Joining Davis and Russell will be Aria Shahghasemi who will be appearing in The Originals Season 5. Also starring will be Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd and Kaylee Bryant, who will play a “popular, kick-ass and brilliant nerd,” a “bubbly and cheerful girl with a penchant for gossip and mischief,” and a girl who is “quietly ambitious and highly intelligent,” respectively.

This “Hope” spinoff is hoping for a spot on The CW’s expanded 2018-2019 TV schedule which will be announced in May.
