Crackle has announced that True Blood alum Ryan Kwanten has joined upcoming drama The Oath, which recently received a straight-to-series order. He’ll be playing Steve Hammond, the pragmatic, shrewd leader of a gang known as The Ravens who values taking care of those closest to him above all else.

From Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-O) and executed produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Power), The Oath explores the corrupt, secretive world of gangs and how their structural inclusivity breeds a loyalty that can sometimes be dangerous to its members.

In addition to his role on the HBO horror drama, Kwanten has appeared on New Girl, Summerland, and Law & Order: SVU. He’s the second person to be cast on The Oath, joining Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) who’ll be playing his father.

The Oath joins a scripted slate for Crackle that includes crime drama StartUp, animated comedy SuperMansion, and Snatch, based on the Guy Richie film of the same name.
