The first episode back, “Man and Machine”, will continue focus on Robo Knight’s discovery of his own humanity. The idea of the Rangers teaching Robo Knight about teamwork and the human spirit will be a major throughline throughout the season, with the conflict heightened by the arrival of new villains. The new robotic enemies, which will invade later in the season, will be led by a villain named Metal Alice, and a major tactic will be to use their robotic nature to try and sway Robo Knight to their side.
As expected, new weapons and powers will be discovered and earned throughout the back of the season. The second episode back, “Ultra Power”, will have the Rangers racing to retrieve an ancient weapon that will unlock–you guessed it–Ultra Mode, the annual “power-up” mode for the team. And of course, the Rangers will have more Megazord sequences, forming the Gosei Great Grand Megazord and Gosei Ultimate Megazord as the season progresses.
Some character-centric plots will be at the forefront, like a promising episode featuring Noah and Robo-Knight teaming up against a monster that steals laughter. Emma will get targeted by a monster who steals dreams in another episode, and towards the end of the season the Rangers will have to stop a derailed passenger train, and befriend a benevolent robot from Metal Alice’s army.
The season will conclude with “End Game,” which is slated to air in late November, and will see the Rangers having to pull out all the stops to defeat enemies from both the insectoid Warstar side and the robotic side. After the first season concludes, there will be a post-finale Halloween and Christmas special, just like in Power Rangers Samurai. Though the title of the Halloween special is yet to be released, the Christmas special will be titled “The Robo Knight Before Christmas.”
Until then, enjoy the first episode back, “Man and Machine”, airing tomorrow at 1 p.m./12c. Below you’ll find the official synopsis, and a newly released preview clip from the episode!
