HBO Max has released 23 photos from the first three episodes of James Gunn‘s The Suicide Squad spinoff starring John Cena, Peacemaker. The series launches with these three episodes on January 13, 2022; although we aren’t sure the titles are officially confirmed, it appears that the first three episodes will be called “A Whole New Whirled,” “Best Friends Never,” and “Better Goff Dead.”

The new photos feature the regular cast in addition to some new faces. Additionally, a Red Band trailer for the series was released by HBO Max to kick off the new year – you can find that underneath the gallery. Do be warned that it might not be suitable for all audiences – it’s Red Band for a reason. (What, do YOU expect the Peacemaker to watch his language?) Here’s the gallery; the trailer can be found below, and again, the series streams January 13 on HBO Max.

PEACEMAKER will explore the origins of the character that John Cena first portrayed in James Gunn’s 2021 film, “The Suicide Squad” – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

The series stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Steve Agee as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith.

Gunn wrote all eight episodes of PEACEMAKER and directed five, including the first. Gunn, Safran and Matt Miller serve as executive producers on the series, with Cena as co-executive producer. Based on characters from DC, PEACEMAKER is produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.
