Continuing our series of columns exploring every night of the week, before the new season officially starts (you can read past columns here), Craig Byrne and Shilo Adams are back, asking one another each three questions about a given night’s television.
Today, we look at Monday… which is becoming more competitive than ever. Remember, the “next page” navigation is near the bottom of the article each time.

CRAIG: If we weren’t thinking about any other network’s programming, I would’ve thought Flash and Supernatural would have been perfect to build CW Mondays… but then, you’d have Flash competing with Gotham, and Supernatural competing with Sleepy Hollow, and that wouldn’t leave any viewers happy. The Originals might be a building block The CW needs for Monday nights, even though it doesn’t seem that compatible with Jane the Virgin. The only other show I could see anchoring Mondays at 8 would be the Vampire Diaries, and at this rate, it looks like that one will never leave its Thursday night spot.
There is a chance The Originals could get crushed there, but I said the same thing about Tuesdays at 8 opposite S.H.I.E.L.D. and it did fine. I might even say that The Originals became better and better as their first season went on, and if they continue with that momentum, Season 2 should be a good watch. Me? I’ll have to DVR it, since I’m sure I’ll be spending my Monday nights in Gotham City.
