Tonight after a very good episode of The Vampire Diaries, The CW’s Nikita continues its streak of improvement.

(Since this episode is airing fairly soon, this review is going to be a little short)

“Into The Dark” features the return of Devon Sawa’s Owen, and we see the change in dynamic now that Owen, Nikita, and Michael seem to be on the “same side.” All three of them seem to have different approaches on what to do with the “black boxes” that Percy and Division have around the world.

On the bright side, in addition to Owen, the characters of Jaden, Amanda, and Birkoff are all present. But I’m finding I’m having the opposite reaction to the show that I had when it first started – originally, I was all about the scenes with Alex and Amanda, especially. Here, the Alex/Amanda stuff, more times than not, seemed to take away from the plotline I was really interested in – the one with Nikita, Owen, Michael, and the black box.

No offense is meant to the show’s creators when I say that Nikita and Michael working together is such an improvement. While the two of them had a sort of… appreciation for one another despite being on other sides, the idea of Michael and Nikita working together makes the interaction much stronger. Though again, it almost makes the whole “Alex in Division” thing to be a bit redundant.

Still… Niita has officially gotten me on board for the rest of the season. Check out some images from the episode here and don’t miss the show itself, tonight at 9PM on The CW!
