CRAIG: I don’t know if “building block” is the term I would use, but “solid performer” for sure. It’s a great show. It will probably skew younger than Arrow, and Grant Gustin already has a huge fan base. Most importantly, the pilot is fun and makes the viewer smile. I have no doubt that Tuesday will be The CW night to beat.
As far as future seasons go… it’s risky. Flash/Supernatural might be so much of a good thing they might not want to break it up. And as we saw from The Tomorrow People, Arrow hasn’t really been a launch pad yet. (The 100 did well no matter where they put it, it seems.)
I do think The Flash might be the biggest premiere The CW has had in years… so, there’s also that.
