Most Surprising (Possible) Renewal: Ghosted. Does FOX even remember they still have that show?
Show That Likely Won’t Be Renewed But Should Be: With all of the potential ownership changes for ABC and FOX, I think any show that’s not produced by either could be in a little danger. So, Gotham, Lucifer, Lethal Weapon: I’m looking at all of you. All three shows deserve to come back, even for finish runs in the case of Gotham, but let’s see what happens.
Possible Scheduling Disaster: I don’t envy the FOX schedulers who have to go with a reduced schedule thanks to Football. Some tough decisions have to be made. I think the biggest potential disaster is if a night is programmed that just doesn’t land. It’d also be a shame if something like 9-1-1 was paired with something that just didn’t work, and it ends up hurting 9-1-1.
Possible Biggest Surprise: I’d be shocked if Empire or Star are not renewed, which they aren’t at the time this is being written, at least.
Safest Bet: Football will absolutely help FOX in the Fall. Will that help with the rest of the season? Probably not, but it’ll be interesting to see.
Project I’m Rooting For: I know it premiered last season, but I really want Season 2 of The Gifted to do well.

“As far as midseason, I think they either put out a third season of music competition The Four, which moved to Thursday this summer following a successful midseason run on Wednesdays, or return to a two drama lineup.”
The Four run on Thursdays for its first season too. The X-Files and 9-1-1 were on Wednesdays this winter on FOX.
