Months ahead of its premiere, footage is being released from Audience Network drama Mr. Mercedes and in it, we see the impact that professional guilt can have on someone’s personal life.

Based on the Stephen King novel and adapted for television by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies), Mr. Mercedes follows the cat and mouse game between demented serial killer Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadaway) and retired police detective Bill Hodges (Brendan Gleeson). When Hartsfield begins contacting Gleeson through lurid letters and emails bent on taunting the detective out of retirement, Hodges decides to undertake a private crusade to bring Hartsfield to justice once and for all.

In addition to Treadaway and Gleeson, Mr. Mercedes stars Kelly Lynch (Magic City), Breeda Wool (UnREAL), Scott Lawrence (Avatar), Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men), and Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight). The series is one of two King adaptations to premiere this summer, with the other being Spike’s take on The Mist.

Joining a scripted slate that includes Condor, Ice, and Loudermilk, Mr. Mercedes is set to premiere Wednesday, August 9th at 8:00 on AT&T’s Audience Network.
