Spike has released another trailer for its upcoming adaptation of The Mist and in it, we see how quickly tension and paranoia can descend when humanity is faced with extraordinary events.
Based on the 1980 Stephen King novella, which has also been adapted into a 2007 film, and developed for television by Christian Torpe, The Mist tells the story of a small town that suddenly becomes bathed in an eerie, dangerous fog that cuts them off from the outside world. The longer the town residents are separated from their loved ones without answers as to what the mist is, where it came from, and when they’ll be able to leave, the more difficult it becomes to retain their sanity.
The first on-going scripted series to air on Spike since the network recommitted to scripted content, The Mist stars Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Veep), Morgan Spector (Allegiance), and Gus Birney (Bloody Mary), among others.
The Mist is set to premiere Thursday, June 22nd at 10:00 on Spike. The series will be eligible to move to Paramount Network, a rebranded Spike, should it put up renewable numbers this summer.
