Tom Ellis Gets The Lead Role In FOX’s Lucifer

Apparently yesterday didn’t bring us enough DC Comics-related TV news for the week.

According to Deadline, Welsh actor Tom Ellis has landed the lead role of Lucifer Morningstar in Lucifer. In the potential FOX TV series, which should be shooting a pilot soon, Lucifer is described as being bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, so he resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.The original Lucifer comics were published by DC’s Vertigo imprint, which was also home to iZombie, which premieres as a series on The CW on March 17.
