History released the first trailer for upcoming 14th century drama Knightfall and in it, we see that all is fair in love, war, and the hunt for the Holy Grail.
From Don Handfield (The Founder) and Richard Rayner (L.A. without a Map), with executive producer Jeremy Renner on board, Knightfall tells the story of the Knights Templar, a mysterious and wealthy military order charged with protecting Christianity’s most prized possession – the Holy Grail. However, the Knights also possess enough secrets to bring the church down, which other world leaders wish to use to their advantage.
Joining a scripted slate for History that includes Vikings and Six, Knightfall stars Bobby Schofield (Black Sea) as Parsifal, a young man who finds purpose in the Knights Templar that he didn’t expect; Sabrina Bartlett (Da Vinci’s Demons) as Princess Isabella, the progeny of Queen Joan and King Philip; Simon Merrells (Spartacus) as veteran sergeant Tancrede, whose fanaticism about the Knights Templar cause makes him dangerous; and Padraic Delany (The Tudors) as Gawain, one of the greatest swordsman of the Knights Templar who finds himself at a personal crossroads.
The series premiere of Knightfall is set to air this fall on History. A more concrete premiere date should be revealed in the coming months.
