Days before its series premiere, BBC America has announced that upcoming thriller Killing Eve has been renewed for a second season.

“This show has the thunder of women on both sides of the chase in Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and, importantly, behind the camera with the lavishly brilliant Phoebe Waller-Bridge,” said Sarah Barnett, President, BBC America. “The early response to Killing Eve has been incredible – for that reason, as well as the fact that we wholeheartedly love this original, funny, thrillingly entertaining series, we are delighted to move ahead with a second season before we even premiere.”

Based on the novellas by Luke Jennings and adapted for television by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Killing Eve focuses on the cat and mouse relationship between bored office drone Eve (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle (Jodie Comer), an elegant, manipulative killer who embraces the luxuries her profession grants her. The series follows security services operative Eve as she comes into Villanelle’s orbit and gets a taste of what a more exciting life would be like.

In addition to Oh and Comer, Killing Eve stars Fiona Shaw (Channel Zero), Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Downward Dog), Kim Bodnia (The Bridge), David Haig (Florence Foster Jenkins), and Darren Boyd (Spy).

The series premiere of Killing Eve airs Sunday, April 8th at 8:00 on BBC America. You can check out a trailer below.
