The Vampire Diaries midseason finale “Christmas Through Your Eyes” airs tonight, which makes now a perfect time to share our video interview with Executive Producer Julie Plec from the Vampire Diaries production office in Georgia.

TVD604A_0038b2In the Q&A with a group of press, Julie talks about the Damon and Bonnie relationship and where it could go in the future, meeting fan expectations, the decision to make Alaric no longer a vampire, Caroline getting hit with some curve balls, what Jeremy wants from life, and more.

We also ask if Matt Donovan’s father is out there in the Vampire Diaries universe, and Julie talks about the longevity of the show and the “end game” of the series. “Right now, I feel like we’re in a really good creative groove, and the show feels really good, and we all as writers, and the actors are really jazzed by the content, and really excited by the stories that we’re telling. And so, I feel like we can keep going. We’ve got people ready and willing to keep going. We certainly have a network and a studio that are ready and willing to keep going. So, when it starts to feel like no one wants to do it anymore, or when there are no stories to be told anymore, then obviously that’s the big conversation that needs to be had. But we still feel that we have some juice left in us,” she says.

SPOILER WARNING! She also talks about when or if Bonnie will be back in the present day.
