The big Flash/Arrow crossover is headed our way starting this Tuesday, December 1 on The CW, but before that, how about another interview from the show’s set?

Today, the spotlight falls on Tom Cavanagh, voted by the fans as their favorite actor in Season 1 for his chilling performance as Harrison Wells a.k.a. Eobard Thawne in the first season.

Among other things, Cavanagh talked about the choice to make the actual Harrison Wells – who has come to Earth-One from a parallel world – a “dick,” for lack of a better word.

“It just seemed to me to be a massive opportunity to turn the tables,” Cavanagh explained. “With Eobard as Harrison last year, there was a certain intelligence and charm and a mannered way to him; a thoughtfulness. I think the expectation [was] that this same person coming From Earth-Two would be like that and my thought was, ‘Why?'”

Tom Cavanagh Flash“If he’s a much more brusque, and arrogant, and generates conflict, than I think all the better for the show, and all the better for me to play,” he continued. “Everything that Eobard did was justified. He had a plan and he completely believed in his plan, and the character that I’m playing his year is similarly committed.”

While this interview was done prior to Wells’ appearance in Earth-One, a lot of what Cavanagh had to say is still relevant, and there is quite a bit of looking back at Season 1’s happenings within for those not wanting spoilers.
