After connecting with Mike over their shared experience with divorce, Abby found that the gruff, moody exterior the coach presents isn’t the man he truly is. Mike is someone who’s put his guard up after being hurt and who’s still trying to find his place in the world as a “me” vs. a “we,” which is something she can relate to having only recently made it to the other side of her own divorce. Seeing that type of vulnerability and relatability from someone who only recently was so distant and cold toward her was surprising, but it inspired Abby to see where this newfound emotional connection (as well as the physical chemistry she couldn’t deny anymore) will lead. Yet while the forbidden nature of their relationship makes what time they get alone more erotic, the fallout from getting caught could destroy what the two are attempting to build.

On the next episode of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, Abby hosts a party with the intention of impressing the baseball parents and finally getting them on her side. Abby gradually ingratiated her with the group by learning more about the game and the mores that are a part of baseball culture, but she doesn’t want these people to see her as just a drinking buddy or a lovably messy single mom; she wants them to know that she has it together and the best way to do that is to bring them together on her home turf. But trying to have secret rendezvous with your kinda boyfriend in a house full of baseball parents isn’t the best idea, as Abby and Mike get caught trying to take care of their unfinished laundry room business from the Santa Barbara trip. The major stumbling block that Abby had with this relationship was the awkwardness that it could bring to not only her but Charlie and Mike, so if word gets around to the rest of the parents that she’s hooking up with the coach, it could ruin what she and Mike might’ve had while making it almost impossible for Charlie to stay on the team.

Elsewhere on Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, Frumpkis brings to Jo a plan to help drive business to the bakery, while Barbara takes a liking to a contractor she hires to remodel her kitchen.

Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce airs Wednesdays at 10:00 on Bravo.

How will Abby getting caught with Mike impact her standing with the baseball parents? Should Jo seriously entertain the idea that Frumpkis comes up with? Could the contractor be someone to fuel Barbara’s writing career while spicing up her love life?
