town_that_came_a_courtin_flipper_revisedA highlight of this recent press tour was seeing TV legend Valerie Harper at the panel for the UP Network TV-movie “The Town That Came A-Courtin’,” which premieres tonight (January 19) at 7PM on the channel. Harper was given only months to live in 2013 after a cancer diagnosis; now, a year later, Harper is still working, vibrant, and it looks like she has a great role in this TV-movie. Her spirit inspired a room of cynical critics to give her a standing ovation.

Harper plays the mother of Lauren Holly’s lead character, Abby Houston, in the movie. Abby is a successful writer who comes to a small town that seems like it’s out of one of her books. The town is called “Bliss,” and in it, the entire town seems to be looking for a wife for their beloved, widowed mayor.

“The Town That Came A-Courtin'” airs at 7PM on the UP Network (formerly GMC/the Gospel Music Channel).
