Paramount Network has announced that Jill Scott (Black Lightning) and Enlisted‘s Michelle Buteau have joined the cast of upcoming dramedy First Wives Club. Scott is playing gorgeous music superstar Hazel, whose talent has been suppressed by her domineering manager/husband Sean for far too long, while Buteau is set as Bree, a doctor and mother of two reeling from the infidelity of her husband.
In addition to her role on the CW comic drama, Scott’s television credits include Being Mary Jane, Fringe, and The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, while Buteau has been seen on Broad City, The Tick, and Key & Peele.
First Wives Club will join a scripted slate for Paramount that features family drama Yellowstone, which was recently renewed for a second season.
Production on First Wives Club is set to begin this fall for an early 2019 premiere.
