CBS has opted to cancel freshman comedy Fam, its Murphy Brown revival, and single cam Life in Pieces, it was confirmed today.

The news on all three comes as no surprise. Fam was a modest-at-best performer that was scheduled like a burn off and didn’t ignite much in the way of buzz or non-linear interest. The series also didn’t have the episode count that something like Man with a Plan did, meaning that it was too far away from syndication for CBS to reach. Murphy generated mixed reviews upon its debut in the fall and failed to ignite much in the way of cultural conversation, unlike its original run when it was at the forefront of political comedy. Life in Pieces is an unowned series in a time of vertical integration and had its episode count cut the season it was to hit syndication, so CBS has clearly been done with it for a while.

Aside from the three cornerstones of the network’s comedy brand (The Neighborhood, Young Sheldon, and Mom), the lone CBS bubble comedy to be renewed for next season is Man with a Plan.
