Christmas is right around the corner, but it’s not too late to pick up some TV favorites now available on DVD and Blu-ray from Paramount Home Entertainment. Several series that previously were only available on the Paramount+ streaming service are available and would make great gifts for the TV lover in your family. Here are four selections that you should check out:

The Good Fight: The Complete Series (DVD) contains all 6 seasons (60 episodes) of the series plus two hours of bonus features. This spinoff from The Good Wife from creators Robert and Michelle King features the character we all loved from the parent series, Christine Baranski’s Diane Lockhart, on a story of her own with high-profile cases and new challenges for her character. Some favorites from The Good Wife show up (including upcoming spinoff star Elsbeth) as well as some new favorites, and some of the political satire to creep in is a lot of fun. There are over two hours of special features on this 18-disc set.

Star Trek: Picard: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) contains all three seasons of the show that brought back Sir Patrick Stewart as the legendary Jean-Luc Picard. While the third season in particular (with its Next Generation reunion) is a must-watch, it’s very interesting to revisit the first two seasons to see how some of it was being set up. Patrick Stewart is, of course, brilliant all the way through, and the amount of extras on this Blu-ray set clocks in at over seven hours. This would be great for the Star Trek fan in your life, especially those who’d like the answer to “whatever happened to” these beloved characters.

The one and only season of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies (DVD) came and went from Paramount+ this past year but the entire season of the Grease prequel is available with every episode of the series as well as a half hour of special features. This one might have fallen under your radar, but there is some fun music within as well as a more diverse take on the concept should you choose to pick up this set.

And then finally, the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (4K UltraHD) has been released as a collectible Steelbook. Before Picard Season 3 came out, this was my favorite season of modern Star Trek, with a brilliant cast led by Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike. Admittedly, I’d always been curious about this earlier crew of the Enterprise, and the way they tell these stories involving some familiar characters (and an episode where they even sort of cross over into a classic Star Trek episode!)… it just revives that sense of fun that Star Trek should be, and the new cast of characters is just phenomenal. As a bonus, you don’t need to know Star Trek at all to follow this. Sure, it’s beneficial to know some things, but you are in on the ground floor with this one, despite the hundreds of stories already in the Star Trek back catalog. And at 4K UltraHD, this is the best this show has ever looked – which is saying something, because it even looked great on the resolution we’d find on Paramount+.
