Deadline is reporting that the DC/Vertigo-based Sandman Universe series Dead Boy Detectives has been canceled by Netflix after only one season.
Originally set up at HBO Max, the show featured two young, dead boys (played by George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri) who had their own paranormal detective agency. Steve Yockey (Supernatural, The Flight Attendant) and Beth Schwartz (Arrow, Sweet Tooth) were showrunners.
The first season is still available to watch on Netflix and is highly recommended. I another time and TV market, this show could have and should have gone on for many years.
The Sandman Universe based on the works of Neil Gaiman will still continue at Netflix with new installments of Sandman with a release date yet to be announced.
