Initial overnight ratings for the Constantine series premiere are in, and, while the numbers could go up in finals and with DVR and time-delayed viewing factored in, the first numbers put the pilot at 4.3 million viewers and a 1.4/5 in the demo.

Here are some additional ratings notes from NBC:
- The premiere of “Constantine” (1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) retained 93% of its lead-in from “Grimm” in adults 18-49 and 95% in adults 25-54 (1.8 vs. 1.9), while building on that lead-in by +8% in men 18-49 (1.3 vs. 1.2) and by +6% in men 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.6).
 - Versus NBC’s time-period average from last season, last night’s “Constantine” is up +40% in 18-49 rating (1.4 vs. 1.0, L+SD non-sports) and up +20% in total viewers (4.339 million vs. 3.613 million).
 - “Constantine” is the top Friday premiere of the past 52 weeks on the Big 4 in adults 18-49, best since “Dracula” debuted with a 1.8 on Oct. 25, 2013.

Let’s hope Constantine does better than Drac did. I thought the rewritten ending was a bit weak, but there wasn’t much they could do about it, I suppose.
Like it, hope it stays. Miss Dracula and Crossbones.
