Starz has announced that horror comedy Ash vs Evil Dead will be vacating its typical October premiere schedule for its upcoming third season. Instead, the series will be skipping 2017 altogether and returning Sunday, February 25th at 9:00, where it effectively replaces the since-concluded Black Sails as the network’s first quarter project.

Season three of Ash vs Evil Dead finds Ash basking in the glow of altering Elk Grove’s perception of him after spending decades as the town pariah, someone who was thought to be a murderous psychopath responsible for the cabin slayings all those years ago. Now people know the hell he’s been dealing with since that fateful night, but Ash’s time being celebrated for his heroics is short-lived when Kelly witnesses a televised massacre that reeks of Ruby’s involvement. As much as Ash wants to be done with Evil, it looks like Evil still has designs on ruining the life he just started rebuilding.

Based on the Sam Raimi-created Evil Dead-verse, with Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) serving as showrunner for season three, Ash vs Evil Dead follows Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) 30 years after the events of the Evil Dead trilogy.

In addition to Campbell, Ash vs Evil Dead stars Ray Santiago (Girlfight), Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas), and Lucy Lawless (Spartacus). The series is part of a scripted slate for Starz that includes Power, Outlander, and The Girlfriend Experience.
