FOX has given a series order to The Great North, its third animated comedy to receive a pass to 2019-2020.
From Wendy and Lizzie Molyneux (Bob’s Burgers), The Great North follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family as single dad Beef does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close, especially as the artistic dreams of his only daughter Judy lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall.
The series has a voice cast that features Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Megan Mullally, Paul Rust, Aparna Nancherla, Will Forte, and Dulcé Sloan. It joins Bless the Harts and Duncanville in bolstering FOX’s animated slate next season, which already includes Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and The Simpsons. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that the network could re-expand to 7:30 on Sundays in order to fit all series, which will have to time share to some degree anyway.
In addition to The Great North, FOX ordered sheriff drama Deputy, family comedy Outmatched, tech drama Next, serial killer thriller Filthy Rich, and an untitled fertility drama from Jason Katims on Thursday.
