According to The Hollywood Reporter, ABC vampire soap pilot The Brides has landed Timeless star Goran Visnjic.
From Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale), with Greg Berlanti executive producing, The Brides is described as a contemporary reimagining of Dracula (Visnjic) that focuses on the relationship between his three immortal wives and the lengths these women will go to maintain their wealth, prestige, and legacy. Per THR, the pilot features Dracula being left for dead at his destroyed castle in the Carpathian mountains while his trio of beloveds set about forging new lives together.
The Brides is one of several dramas in contention at ABC for next season, joining thirtysomething sequel thirtysomething(else); family restaurant saga Harlem’s Kitchen; plane crash tale Wreckage; and legal drama Rebel, which stars Katey Sagal as an Erin Brockovitch-like figure. The network has a straight-to-series order in David E. Kelley PI drama The Big Sky, as well as decade-hopping medical drama Triage in development as a “second cycle” pilot.
In addition to his role on the NBC drama, Visnjic’s television credits include ER, Dollface, and Santa Clarita Diet. He joins a cast that includes Gina Torres (Suits), Katherine Reis (Claws), Sophia Tatum (I Am Not Okay With This), and Chris Mason (Broadchurch).
