Deadline is reporting that How I Met Your Mother alum Cobie Smulders will lead ABC P.I. drama pilot Stumptown.

Based on the series of graphic novels from Greg Rucka, with Jason Richman (Detroit 1-8-7) developing for television, Stumptown tells the story of Dex (Smulders), a whip-smart, hard-luck former Military Intelligence officer having a tough time adjusting to a normal life in Portland. Now working as a private investigator in order to make ends meet and continue chasing the adventure she’s so clearly missing, Dex’s complicated past soon catches up to her.

In addition to her role on the CBS comedy, Smulders’s television credits include recently cancelled Netflix comedy Friends From College, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Agents of SHIELD.

Stumptown is part of a drama pilot slate for ABC that includes Bermuda Triangle adventure Triangle; an untitled legal drama executive produced by 50 Cent; romantic drama Until the Wedding; family drama Heart of Life; and new takes on New York Undercover and NYPD Blue.
