Syfy has officially set its summer schedule, which kicks off with the Friday, June 15th premiere of the final 12 Monkeys season. Similar to season three, 12 Monkeys season four will undergo an unusual airing pattern, this time spread across four weeks. The first three weeks have three episodes airing 8-11 every Friday, while the fourth Friday will feature a two-episode finale.
Taking over for 12 Monkeys on Fridays will be Wynonna Earp and Killjoys beginning July 20th. The former, which finds Wynonna and company on the hunt for the demon that cursed her family, gets a time slot upgrade to 9:00 in its third season. Having been renewed for two final seasons, the latter is bumped back to 10:00.
In addition to backing off of non-Friday weeknights for the first time in a while, this is a reduction in original scripted for Syfy compared to last summer when the network had Wynonna Earp, Killjoys, Dark Matter, and Blood Drive. The latter two were ultimately cancelled.
Syfy’s original scripted slate currently includes its trio of summer shows, along with The Magicians, The Expanse, Krypton, Channel Zero, Van Helsing, and Z Nation. The network has a Deadly Class adaptation and George R. R. Martin’s Nightflyers on deck.
