The Hollywood Reporter has posted this afternoon that Witches of East End will be no more, as Lifetime will not be picking it up for Season 3.

woee_ep209_sb_1032The series – which was a popular one here at KSiteTV this summer, with Shilo Adams’ recaps – will apparently not be back for a third season. It joins The Lottery among the Lifetime shows that won’t be coming back for additional seasons.

Lifetime has other shows in the pipeline, including the renewed Devious Maids, the Omen-related series Damien, and The Clan of the Cave Bear. Still, sad to see a series with such a following getting away…

Yeah, it’s sad, and surprised me considering the internet following the show has. It carried some buzz even though it was on Lifetime, and the actors did a good job of engaging fans on social media. Madchen especially. I hope they’ll pursue putting it on another network, even a virtual one like Netflix, Hulu, etc. Personally, I started watching because James Marsters was going to be on, but I liked it and caught up on season 1, and this also sucks because it’s the most to do that anyone’s given JM since Smallville.

Saw comments today that Lifetime has a trend of doing this, cancelling shows that ended on cliffhangers, which is not cool.
