On the heels of announcing the premiere date for Shameless, Showtime has further solidified its fall plans by revealing rollout plans for new comedies SMILF and White Famous.
From Frankie Shaw (Mixology), SMILF tells the story of Bridgette (Shaw), a 20-something from Boston whose life takes an unexpected turn after she gets pregnant. The series will chronicle how Bridgette balances this new development in her life with her still burning desires for career, sex, and relationships. Co-starring Rosie O’Donnell (The Fosters) as Bridgette’s proud, independent mother Tutu, SMILF premieres Sunday, November 5th at 10:00.
White Famous follows Floyd Mooney (Jay Pharoah), a young comedian whose meteoric rise up the entertainment industry forces him to decide whether he wants to maintain his underground credibility or achieve the highest rung of fame that he can. Created by Tom Kapinos (Californication) and premiering October 15th at 10:00 before moving to 10:30 on November 5th, White Famous stars Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth), Jack Davenport (Smash), Lyndon Smith (Parenthood), Michael Rapaport (Louie), and Natalie Zea (Justified).
