Showtime has revealed that the eighth season of family dramedy Shameless is set to premiere Sunday, November 5th at 9:00.
Season eight of Shameless, which moved to the fall last year after spending its first six seasons in winter, finds the Gallagher clan dealing with the loss of Monica and grieving in their own ways. Most notable, though, is that Frank has taken the loss hardest of all and uses Monica’s death as motivation to change his life. However, Frank has attempted plenty of new starts, so whether his children are ready to buy into this latest epiphany remains to be seen.
Based on the UK series of the same name and developed for American television by John Wells, Shameless follows the Gallaghers, a blue-collar family in Chicago that struggles to make ends meet. The series stars William H. Macy (Fargo), Emmy Rossum (Phantom of the Opera), Jeremy Allen White (Movie 43), Cameron Monaghan (Gotham), Emma Kenney (Epic), Ethan Cutkosky (The Unborn), Shanola Hampton (Things Never Said), and Steve Howey (Reba).
Recently earning another Emmy nomination for Macy, Shameless is part of a scripted slate for Showtime that includes I’m Dying Up Here, Homeland, Billions, Ray Donovan, Dice, and The Affair, as well as the upcoming final season of Episodes.
