In what is the best week of television all season long, I give you my top picks, which just happens to be all of my favorite current shows!

1. Community 3.11 “Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts” (NBC)

Air Time: Thursday, March 15th, 2012 @ 8PM ET

Synopsis: Andre proposes that he and Shirley re-marry and a wedding date is set. Britta and Annie get busy planning the wedding and Jeff prepares to give a wedding speech – while Troy and Abed get ready to be “normal” for the occasion. Meanwhile, Pierce and Shirley pitch a sandwich shop idea to Dean Pelton for the Greendale cafeteria.

Thoughts: My life is finally fulfilled again now that Community is back from an awful, completely unfunny hellatus. This episode promises the return of TV’s funniest group of people and best group of writers. Troy and Abed back on TV!

2. The Vampire Diaries 3.16 “1912” (CW)

Air Time: Thursday, March 15th, 2012 @ 8PM ET

Synopsis: The present-day murders in Mystic Falls remind Damon of a similar crime spree a century earlier. In flashbacks to 1912, Damon recalls a beautiful vampire, Sage, who showed him a whole new way to exist. Sheriff Forbes warns Damon not to get involved in her investigation, but Damon is convinced she’s going after the wrong suspect. Elena and Matt resort to breaking and entering in their search for evidence to prove Dr. Fell is the murderer. For reasons known only to her, Rebekah becomes interested in locating one of the town’s oldest landmarks. Finally, Elena comes to a new understanding of the path her life has taken. Damon makes an emotional confession to Stefan.

Thoughts: It is nice to finally get back to Mystic Falls. Things there continue to be rather familiar with the usual danger and murder going on, but I guess I’m  ready to see what’s next… That was complete sarcasm. Cassidy Freeman, Smallville‘s Tess Mercer, appears in this episode! Can’t wait!

3. Supernatural 7.16 “Out With the Old” (CW)

Air Time: Friday, March 16th, 2012 @ 9PM ET

Synopsis: After a ballerina is found dead from dancing herself to death, Sam and Dean look into the case and discover the ballet slippers she wore were cursed. When Dean accidentally touches the shoes the power of the curse starts to take hold of him.

Thoughts: This really is the best week of TV ever! The return of Community, TVD and Supernatural! Now that the fifteen million planned hiatus’s are out of the way, we can finally continue and conclude the rise and fall of Dick. The only thing holding the Winchester Bros. back this week is… ballet slippers… Seriously. Awesome. Here’s hoping for another “Bad Day at Black Rock!”

4. Spartacus: Vengeance 2.08 “Balance” (Starz)

Air Time: Friday, March 16th, 2012 @ 10PM ET

Synopsis: Spartacus contemplates an opportunity for revenge after the capture of an influential Roman; intrigue is at a fever pitch among Glaber and the women in his circle.

Thoughts: Since the fall of the arena and the descent of Glaber’s sanity, this show has seen some of its best moments. With the influential Roman in the slaves’ captivity, Glaber will surely be in a rage and I cannot wait to see his reaction. Welcome back to the brotherhood, Gannicus! The Romans will tremble!

5. The Walking Dead 2.13 “Beside the Dying Fire” (AMC)

Air Time: Sunday, March 18th, 2012 @ 9PM ET

Synopsis: Rick and Carl return from the woods to find the farm in jeopardy. The group is split up in the ensuing chaos. With things looking grim, Rick’s leadership is questioned.

Thoughts: After the epic penultimate episode, I am so much more excited for than sad about this being the season finale. In what promises to be quite the showdown reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead, our survivors will fight harder for their own survival than ever before. Do not miss this!!!
