Deadline has revealed that Jared Padalecki has reunited with Walker EP Anna Fricke for a new CBS drama project. Currently, a title for the one-hour drama is not yet known. Like Walker, this project will take place in Jared’s home state of Texas, but instead of a ranger, this time the Supernatural alum will be playing a doctor.

The Deadline article reveals that unlike most medical dramas, which take place in big city hospitals, this project would spotlight rural medicine. They also note that the show centers on “a headstrong, devoted country doctor who practices his unique style of improvisational medicine alongside his new protégé, a young doctor running from her past, as they operate a mobile clinic and heal the bodies and souls of their underserved community in the medical desert of rural Texas.”

It is said that Jared’s Fire Country spinoff, Fire Country: Surfside, is still in consideration, but of course CBS still has to premiere their new Sheriff Country show. What would you like to see — this project, or the Fire Country spinoff? Let us know in the comments!
