Syfy has released the official trailer for the upcoming second season of Van Helsing and in it, we see that the vampire apocalypse shows no sign of letting up.
Based on the graphic novel series Helsing and developed for television by Neil LaBute (In the Company of Men), Van Helsing follows Vanessa (Kelly Overton), a direct descendent of famed vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, as she finds herself resurrected into a world three years into a vampire apocalypse. Her mission is to led the survivors in a resistance against the authoritarian vampire regime and rescue humanity from the brink of extinction.
In addition to Overton, Van Helsing stars Jonathan Scarfe (The Magicians), Christopher Heyerdahl (Hell on Wheels), Laura Mennell (Alphas), and Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue), who will be playing mysterious Scarlet Harker, a weapon in the war against the vampires.
The second season of Van Helsing is set to premiere this fall on Syfy. A more concrete premiere date, along with dates for the rest of Syfy’s robust fall slate, should be announced soon.
