Anyhow. If you got past that warning, hello. There were several things from Vampire Diaries Executive Producer Julie Plec’s Q&A that we weren’t able to post earlier for obvious reasons, from the group press interview that was held yesterday. Many of the quotes you might find on other websites as well, as we were one of several media outlets in attendance, but here are some answers to some questions that may have come up from tonight’s show.
First off, if The Originals are so well-loved by the audience, would Plec and the TVD writing team really kill them all off at once, now that Esther has set those plans in motion? “I can’t really say too much about that without unveiling the plan for the season, but I think that if the villains in our show have proven anything, from the beginning, it’s that they have a durability that borders on supernatural,” Julie laughed. “Their ability to hurt. Their ability to sense things that are wrong, and of course, our villains’ ability to survive what seems to be certain doom and death. There are five Originals and an Original Mama, and we’ll see who comes out the other side of it all to tell the tale,” she teased. When asked if all of them did indeed drink and swallow the drink tonight, particularly Elijah, Plec confirmed that yes, he did.
We’ll get to know a little bit more about what it takes for the spell to go through in TVD’s next episode. “The next episode takes place in a full moon, and we’ll learn that, like most of the big, heavy-duty witch spells, there needs to be some sort of recurring celestial event or recurring element attached to it,” Plec revealed, adding that Bonnie and her mother may be recruited to help with the spell.
