CBS has given a series order to cop drama Tommy, it was confirmed today.
From Paul Attanasio (Bull), Tommy tells the story of Abigail “Tommy” Thomas (Edie Falco), a quintessentially New York former NYPD officer who’s just been hired as the first ever female Chief of Police for the LAPD. The series follows Thomas as she adjusts to her new environment and applies her hardball sensibilities to a department in need of structure.
Falco is joined in the cast by the likes of Adelaide Clemens, Michael Chernus, Russell G. Jones, and Olivia Lucy Phillip.
This is the fourth drama CBS has ordered for the 2019-2020 season, joining FBI spinoff FBI: Most Wanted, genre drama Evil, and legal series All Rise. The network also has four comedies set to debut in their first season without The Big Bang Theory.
