SundanceTV has set a premiere date for upcoming divorce drama The Split. The series will debut its six-episode first season Wednesday, May 23rd at 10:00.

From Abi Morgan (The Hour) and Jane Featherstone (Humans), The Split tells the story of divorce lawyer Hannah Defoe (Nicola Walker) as she quits her family firm upon losing out on a promotion and lands at a rival firm alongside ex Christie (Barry Atsma). The series chronicles Hannah’s battle in court with her mother and sister as they represent different sides in the divorce of Goldie (Meera Syal) and millionaire husband Davey (Stephen Tomkinson).

In addition to Walker, Atsma, Syal, and Tomkinson, The Split stars Deborah Findlay (Vanity Fair) as Hannah’s mother Ruth; Annabel Scholey (Britannia) as Hannah’s impulsive sister Nina; Fiona Button (Grantchester) as Rose, Hannah’s soon-to-be-married younger sister; Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Hannah’s estranged father Oscar, whose return after a 30-year disappearance stirs up issues within his family; and Stephen Mangan (Episodes) as Hannah’s smart, affable husband Nathan.

The Split joins a scripted slate for SundanceTV that includes Hap & Leonard, Liar, and Cleverman.
