Fans of the new NBC series The Irrational might notice that tonight’s episode isn’t a new installment, but instead, it’s a repeat of the series’ third episode “The Barnum Effect.” There also don’t yet appear to be more episodes of The Irrational coming on the schedule in the weeks that follow November 13.
What gives? It’s all pretty self-explanatory: The seven episodes we’ve already seen of The Irrational were shot in the Spring prior to the dual WGA (writer) and SAG-AFTRA (actor) strikes. While an eighth episode called “The Scorched Earth” was originally planned for November 13, we assume that we’ll finally get that one when the show returns, likely in 2024.
The Irrational follows world-renowned professor of behavioral science Alec Mercer (Jesse L. Martin) as he lends his unique expertise on an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement and corporations. His insight and unconventional approach to understanding human behavior lead him and the team on a series of intense, unexpected journeys to solve illogical puzzles and perplexing mysteries.
The cast also includes Maahra Hill as Marisa, Travina Springer as Kylie, Molly Kunz as Phoebe, and Arash DeMaxi as Rizwan.
