Good news and bad news for fans who watch a lot of CBS today. First, the good news: The Equalizer has been renewed for Season 5!
“The Equalizer, led by the incomparable Queen Latifah, has all the best elements of a powerful drama,” CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “The series is stacked with suspense, heroism, high stakes and formidable characters our audience roots for. We look forward to another dynamic season.”
And now for the bad news: NCIS: Hawai’i won’t be continuing past Season 3. There had been several negotiations to try and make it work, and despite the show’s ratings, there are only so many spots on the CBS schedule for 2024-2025. The crowded schedule already includes new series such as Matlock and a Young Sheldon spinoff as well as a NCIS: Origins prequel series; shows like S.W.A.T., Tracker, Elsbeth, and the FBI franchise have all been renewed. So Help Me Todd and CSI: Vegas were announced as canceled last week.
NCIS: Hawai’i was the first female-led show in the NCIS franchise and added NCIS: Los Angeles’ LL Cool J as Sam Hanna for the currently-airing third season, which airs Mondays on CBS.
CBS is expected to announce their Fall 2024 schedule in the coming week.
